The selector comprises a pre-selector for each guide, acting as an AND logic gate for controlled pulsing and synchronising with the rotation of the needle cylinder. An input for pre-selection pulses generated by a controller, and mechanical memory devices are supplemented by a mechanical output. The mechanical output is activated by the AND function to connect the actuator devices of the guides to the control levers in their synchronised cylinder.
