NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I (R is lower alkyl; X is halogen) and a salt thereof. EXAMPLE:2-Chloromethyl-5-methyl-thiazolo-[3,2-b]-s-triazole. USE:A medicine having cardiotonic and vasodilator action with little toxicity and side effect. PREPARATION:A compound expressed by formula II, e.g. 2-imino-3-(chloroacetyl)amino-4-methyl-DELTA<4>-thiazoline, is reacted in the presence of an acid, e.g. polyphosphoric acid, preferably at 120-150 deg.C for 30min - several hours. The reaction is normally carried out using the individual acid as a solvent, but may be carried out in an organic solvent, e.g. xylene.
