PURPOSE:To obtain good welding by radiating laser light, in which energy density in the central part is lower than that in its periphery, on a pellet and a sleeve or on the pellet, a cup and the sleeve for weld-fixing them. CONSTITUTION:A cathode structure consisting of a pellet 1 made of a W material, a cup 2 made of a Ta material and a sleeve 3 similarly made of the Ta material is welded by radiating laser light, whose central energy density is lower than the peripheral energy density, on the welding position 4. Said difference in energy density is made to be about 20% by fitting, for example, a filter with an adjusted light transmission rate. Thereby, scattering of the sleeve 3 and the cup 2 made of the Ta material is suppressed so as to be able to obtain a satisfying welding state. Further, a similar effect can be obtained also when welding the pellet 1 directly to the sleeve 3.
