PRODUCTION OF BASE SHEET FOR SURFACE TREATMENT HAVING EXCELLENT SURFACE CHARACTERISTIC BY WET TEMPER ROLLING

PURPOSE:To obtain a base sheet for surface treatment having an excellent surface characteristic without scratch flaws, etc. by interposing a lubricating agent having the specified coefft. of friction and oil film strength between rolling rolls and the base sheet for surface treatment and subjecting the base sheet to wet temper rolling. CONSTITUTION:The lubricating agent having 0.20-0.45 coefft. of friction and >=400kg/mm<2> oil film strength (Hertz's pressure) is selected in the stage of subjecting the base sheet for surface treatment having <=0.45mm sheet thickness to wet temper rolling at the draft up to 15%. This lubricating agent is supplied between the rolling rolls and the base sheet for surface treatment to improve the stability of wet temper rolling. The desired base sheet for surface treatment having the excellent surface characteristic without scratch flaws, etc. is thus produced.
