PURPOSE:To detect surely molten metal leakage and to simplify a detecting means by judging the molten metal leakage condition of a casting mold by using the discharge gas temp. detected in the stage of pressure reduction or the increasing degree of said discharge gas temp. CONSTITUTION:A temp. sensor 6 for detecting the discharge gas temp. is provided to a discharge port 3 part. The temp. sensor 6 is a CA thermocouple and the thermoelectromotive force of the thermocouple 6 is fed to a measuring instrument 12. An alarm lamp 8 is lighted up and the atm. air is introduced into a chamber 2 to stop casting when the discharge gas temp. detected from the thermoelectromotive force exceeds the preset temp. in the instrument 12. The temp. rises extremely when the molten metal leakage arises and therefore the temp. for detecting the molten metal leakage is set at the temp. accounting for such increase. The sure detection of the molten metal leakage is thus made possible and the detection is also made possible with the extremely simple installation.
