<p>PURPOSE:To estimate ice accretion on stringing and send a proper command to an electric car before it enters an ice accretion section, and to prevent trouble from occurring by using a speed difference detector which detects the difference between the speed of a body which rolls in a groove without any ice accretion and the speed in an ice accretion state. CONSTITUTION:A base 5 is installed at a place on the same condition as the actual installation place of the stringing of electric cars and has the oblique groove 51. The temperature different detector 7 detects and stores the rolling speed of the body 6 which rolls in the groove 51 when there is no ice accretion in the groove 51. Then, the body 6 is rolled in the groove 51 to decide whether ice accretion occurs or not. If the ice accretion is caused, the rolling speed of the body 6 is varied by friction and the detector 7 detects the difference in speed between no ice accretion and ice accretion. A means which sends commands to electric cars 1, e.g. CPU 8 estimates the degree of ice accretion on the actual stringing from the variation in the speed of the body 6 and sends a command of 'stop', 'speed reduction', or 'normal operation' to electric cars 1.</p> |
