<p>PURPOSE:To prolong the life of a light emitting element by providing the 2nd self-light-emitting element which exposes a no-image part and shortening the lighting time of an exposing means which forms an image. CONSTITUTION:A LED lamp 21 illuminates between prerotation and postrotation and between images H in an image exposure area G to erase the potential on a photosensitive drum 1. Respective chips of an LED array 16 turn on and off in the exposure area G according to an image signal, namely, turn on where toner should be stuck and turn off at other places. In this case, the LED lamp 21 and LED array 16 are so controlled that the LED array 16 is turned on and off according to the image signal only when the image signal is inputted and the LED lamp 21 is turned on in the image area when no image signal is inputted. Consequently, the life of a light emitting element used as an image exposing means is prolonged and its heating value is reducible.</p> |
