PURPOSE:To simplify the fitting work to a car and the adjusting work of a suspension device having an outer tube and an inner tube inserted rotatably and reciprocatably into it by integrally providing a car height detecting unit. CONSTITUTION:The actuator 1 of a suspension device for car has an outer tube 2 and an inner tube 8 inserted rotatably and reciprocatably in the axial direction into it, oil is fed or discharged to an oil chamber 41 via an oil pipe 50, and the projection quantity of the inner tube 8 in relation to the outer tube 2 is adjusted to adjust the car height by changing the volume of an air chamber 40, i.e., the inner pressure or volume of air chambers 12, 36. A car height detecting unit 70 is fitted to a cylindrical cover 31 concentric with the inner tube 8. This car height detecting unit 70 is constituted with sensors 101-103 fitted to a mobile member 87 movable along a pair of guide members 80, 81 extending vertically and provided in a case 72 and multiple sections to be detected on the plate 104 on the case 72 side. |
