PURPOSE:To provide good dimensional accuracy for cut products by binding fast work pieces of a hard and brittle substance using a water soluble adhesive for cutting, and thereby putting the pieces surely in contact with one another and aligning them parallelly. CONSTITUTION:Work pieces are immersed in a solution of water soluble adhe sive whose main component is polyvinylalcohol with a degree of polymerization 500-2,000 and a degree of saponification 70-99%, and piled up on a slice table in three layers. Then this material is placed in a dryer to undergo consoli dation, which provides a fast bonded processing material. In this condition a rod to be processed is cut and processed, and the processed rod is cleaned in a hot water trough to disolve the adhesive. After cleaning with ultrasonic hot water, it is dried up with hot wind to finally produce a rod of specified demension. |
