The invention relates to the technique of producing a permanent joint between weld pieces. The pressure welding process consists in the fact that an activating protective layer (4) is introduced between the weld pieces (1, 2) connected and heated under the action of a main pressure and a pulse pressure, the pyrolysis of the protective layer (4) being effected at a temperature in a range of 0.5 to 0.9 times the melting temperature T1 of one of the weld pieces by heating the joint zone (3) at a rate V while maintaining the condition <IMAGE> where V denotes the heating rate of the joint zone of the weld pieces, T the heating temperature of the joint zone of the weld pieces and t the pyrolysis time of the activating protective layer. The machine for realising the pressure welding process contains a movable and a fixed clamp (10 and 9 resp.) arranged on a housing (8), hydraulic cylinders (11, 12) mechanically coupled to the movable clamp (10) and having control spools (13, 14), a heater (15) connected to the weld pieces (1, 2), a pressure transducer (16) attached to the hydraulic cylinder (11) for the main pressure and to the heater (15), a temperature transducer (17), connected to the heater (15), for the heating of the joint zone, and a correcting device, acting on the movable clamp (10) of the machine, for the amount of deformation of the welding surfaces during their heating. The invention can be used in the tool industry, in the construction of jigs and fixtures and in machine building for producing stepped parts, shafts, shaped transition pieces and the like. <IMAGE> |
