PURPOSE:To shorten a tool exchanging time by turning about 90 deg. an arm support device to insert and take out a tool clamp of an exchanging arm into and from a tool at the direct tool exchanging position while used tool is received directly in a tool magazine. CONSTITUTION:A tool pot 21 is mounted on a transfer chain 22 to be sent sequentially to a tool exchange position. An arm support device 40 for rotatably moving tool exchanging arm 41 having a tool clamp on an end is mounted on a carriage 33 by a turning shaft 34. Also, a hydraulic cylinder 55 for reciprocating the carriage 33 is mounted on a tool magazine. Thus, the tool pot 21 receiving a predetermined tool T2 comes to the exchange position on the basis of tool exchange command. Next, the arm support device 40 is turned 90 deg. and the tool clamp on the end of the exchanging arm 41 advances after clamping the tool T2. Further, a hydraulic cylinder 55 is operated to attach a new tool T2 to a spindle 13. |
