PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material enhanced in color forming property, by containing an electron-donating leuco dye, an electron-acceptive compound and a specific compound. CONSTITUTION:This thermal recording material contains an electron-donating leuco dye, an electron-acceptive compound and a compound represented by general formula I (wherein Ar is a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group, X is a divalent 2-6C group, R is substituted or unsubstituted 1-8C alkyl or unsaturated alkyl group). Among compounds represented by the general formula I, one having m.p. of 40-180 deg.C is pref. As an embodiment of the compounds, 1-p-biphenyloxy-2-acetyloxyethane or 1-p-biphenyloxy-2-chloroacetyloxyethane is designated. As the electron-donating leuco dye, a triarylmethane compound and a diphenylmethane compound etc. are used and, as the electron-acceptive compound, there are a phenolic compound, an rog. acid or a metal salt thereof oxybenzoic ester, etc. |
