MANUFACTURE OF LITHIUM BATTERY

PURPOSE:To lengthen storage life by blanking a negative active material and a separator in the same diameter to prevent the slippage of the centers. CONSTITUTION:A negative active material and a separator are concurrently blanked in the same diameter to prevent the slippage of the centers. A separator 3 is positioned in a Thomson punch 8 direction and a lithium foil serving as a negative active material 2 is positioned in a Thomson die 9 direction and they are fed and pressed down at the same time with a rod 10. The separator and lithium foil are blanked in a disc form by pressing the Thomson punch having a required diameter so as to reach the Thomson die having rubber elasticity. By this process, the storage life of the battery is lengthened and its reliability is increased.
