PRINTING CONTROL APPARATUS

PURPOSE:To enable not only mirror surface printing but also the use of a character generator having a usual pattern and to entirely dispense with a printing address converting program for mirror surface printing, by adding several IC parts and performing operation for rewriting one-bit information selecting usual printing or mirror surface printing. CONSTITUTION:A printing address control part 19 for changing over printing address information applied to a buffer memory 16 between usual printing and mirror surface printing and a data converting part 22 for converting the information of the printing data path 23 read from the buffer memory 16 as it is or performing the left and right reversal thereof according to the signal of a printing mode signal line 21 are provided. The printing address control part 19 has function imparting any effect to printing address information in a usual printing mode but reversing the address information in a lateral direction in each bit unit in a mirror surface printing mode. By this method, without using a character generator for a mirror surface character, one-bit information is set in a software manner and other control is performed by the same operation as usual printing to enable mirror surface printing.
