PURPOSE:To facilitate the control of the particle content of polymer particles, by mechanically mixing polymer cores having a specified average particle diameter with fine particles of a magnetic material, a colorant or the like surface- treated with a silane coupling agent or the like. CONSTITUTION:Polymer cores of an average particle diameter of 0.7-300mum are mechanically mixed with fine particles surface-treated with a silane coupling agent and/or a titanate coupling agent and having an average particle diameter <=1/5 of that of said polymer core in an inert medium to adhere the fine particles to the surfaces of the polymer cores. Preferable polymer cores are those having such a particle diameter distribution that at least 70% of the total particles have diameters falling in the range of its average particle diameter + or -20%. Representative examples of said fine particles include those of a magnetic material, a colorant and active carbon. Although water, alcohols, ketones, etc., can be mentioned as said inert media, water is preferable from the viewpoint of safety and cost. |
