PURPOSE:To interchange easily microprograms on an external storage device by loading the microprogram on the first storage medium to a control storage and transferring and storing the microprogram on the first storage medium onto the second storage medium. CONSTITUTION:A floppy disc drive 510 or 520 is used as the input device to store microprograms for a control storage 110 of an arithmetic unit 100, which is introduced together with a processor 1, and a control storage 202 of a terminal control mechanism 200 in the control storage 110 and the control storage 202 respectively from floppy discs, where these microprograms are stored, by the initial microprogram loading operation. Microprograms of the floppy disc drive 510 or 520 are stored in a magnetic disc 610 under an operating system. As the result, microprogram files 612 and 613 are generated as mere data files under the operating system.
