PURPOSE:To simplify the structure of a device such as a low-pass filter or an inverse filter without decreasing the improving effect of sound image localization in the audible sense by applying two-stage of interleaving processing up to a frequency band taking the phase discrimination capability of both ears into account in a digital sound signal with a short sampling period. CONSTITUTION:The band of a digital sound signal input is limited from the standpoint of psychological effect of sound image localization and the inverse characteristic of the sound field is convoluted while the sampling period is extended, then the quality of the sound image localization in the audible sense is maintained and the device is decreased in size. In a conventional equalizer, in order to correct up to L sec of the reflected sound (L is an optional integer), the signal is processed by using an inverse characteristic FIR digital filter of L/T stage (T is a sampling period) and multiplication of L/T<2> times is required, but since the inverse characteristic FIR digital filter of L/(mnT) stages is processed at a sampling frequency mnT sec, the multiplication of L/(mnT)<2> times is enough. |
