PURPOSE:To prevent overheating of a main heat-generating resistor for ink, by constituting the main heat-generating resistor substrate which consists a heat-generating element with a heat resistant organic film; and by forming an abrasion-resistant protective film on one side; and by providing a heat generating resistor for preheating with approximately equal length on the other side of the substrate; and by constituting a thermal head after fixing the above on a heat dissipation panel. CONSTITUTION:On one surface of a substrate 20 in which a heat-resistant organic film is used a resistance film 21 and a lead layer 22 are bonded, and a main heat-generating resistor line 23... which constitutes a heat-generating element line with a density corresponding to a desired resolution is formed, and an antioxidant film 24 and an abrasion resistant film 25 are bonded over the main heat-generating resistor line. Then, on the other surface of the substrate 20, a heat-generating front line for preheating 26 is formed in a vicinity of the main heat-generating resistor line and on the entrance side of a film 1, and in parallel with the main resistor line and with approximately same length. Insulation is provided with the exception of unloading portion, and after being bonded and fixed to a heat dissipation panel with a good heat conductivity, and a thermal head is provided. The use of the above thermal head 1 does not require a high temperature of the main heat-generating resistor line 23... required for heating ink discharge. |
