<p>PURPOSE:To effectively treat org. waste water, by packing a tank with a porous carrier with a total pore volume of 0.1-1.5cm<2>/g comprising a ceramics material and supporting anaerobic bacteria on the surface of the carrier. CONSTITUTION:A compound of an alkali metal or an alkaline earth metal is contained in a porous carrier with a total pore volume of 0.1-1.5cm<2>/g such as SiO2, Mg(OH)2 or CaCO3 and the isoelectric point of the carrier is shifted to an alkali side. When a tank is packed with this porous carrier, anaerobic bacteria are used in a neutral tank in the vicinity of pH6-8 and, therefore, the carrier of which the isoelectric point was shifted to an alkali side is charged positively in an anaerobic treatment tank and almost all of anaerobic bacteria are charged negatively and electric compatibility is generated between both of them to enhance the adhesion concn. of bacteria to a large extent.</p> |
