PURPOSE:To reduce the damage generated in a rotary shaft at the time of the withdrawal of a catalyst, by arranging a plurality of shafts and a plurality of hammers supported to said shafts at the base ends thereof in a rotatable manner and protruded from support members at the leading ends thereof. CONSTITUTION:The main pulley of an air motor 33 is rotated and a follower pulley 31 is rotated through a belt 32 and the rotary shaft 21 fixed to the follower pulley 31 at one end thereof is further rotated. Support members 22 are rotated with the rotation of said rotary shaft 21 and hammers 24 are rotated through shafts 23. These hammers 24 are energized to the radius direction of the rotary shaft 21 by centrifugal force generated by rotation and a catalyst is crushed and cut by the leading ends of the hammers 24 and whirled up thereby. Impact force is generated in the tangential direction of the leading end of each hammer 24 at the crushing time of the catalyst but the hammers 24 are revolved around the shafts 23.
