PURPOSE:To always keep picture quality over a regulated level by providing a pattern generating circuit and a record correcting circuit at a picture signal process part. CONSTITUTION:At a picture signal process part 2, an analog/digital conversion circuit 13, a shading correcting circuit 11, a record correcting circuit 22, a dither circuit 23, a print control circuit 24 and a pattern generating circuit 25 are provided. The record correcting circuit 22 is a circuit which accumulates a record correcting picture signal at a RAM2 element to obtain a correcting factor that corrects the record unevenness of a thermal head 3 and sends it with an input picture signal to the address terminal of a ROM3 element 22 and takes out a corrected picture signal. The pattern generating circuit 25 is the circuit which operates only when a work to store the record correcting picture signal at the RAM element 222 in the record correcting circuit 22 is carried out and which operates to make the picture signal of a uniform pattern output from the dither circuit 23.
