PURPOSE:To allow the owner of employees' eating house to obtain the amount of sales at the time of issuing an information recording medium and to make it unnecessary to sum up sales by the employee and report them when the information recording medium is introduced to employees' eating house by paying an expense with the information recording medium as a money ticket and recording a balance every time. CONSTITUTION:A snacking system 10 is constituted of plural magnetic card reading and writing devices 12, a printer 14, an external memory 16 such as a floppy disk, a keyboard 18 and a processor 20. When a magnetic card is inserted into the magnetic card reading and writing device 12 corresponding to the item of desired food, information on the balance stored on the magnetic card is read out, and a central processing unit 21 substracts the price from the inputted balance, transmits information on the arithmetic result (balance) and the price to the magnetic card reading and writing device 12, and updates the contents stored in the external memory 16 with respect to the sales of the said item. The magnetic card reading and writing device 12 displays the balance and the price, and writes information on the balance on the magnetic card.
