PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration of pump performance due to sand abrasion by forming an opening which is to be situated opposite to the peripheral part of the inducer outlet of a pump casing. CONSTITUTION:An opening 11 is formed at the case of a pump, opposite to the outer periphery of an inducer (9)'s outlet, and vents part of water sucked by the inducer 9 and a guide pipe 10 out of the pump. When water being sucked through a strainer 7 contains sand, it is subjected to centrifugal force by the inducer 9 to contain high density of sand. And such water near the outermost periphery of inducer (9) outlet is discharged through the opening 11 out of the pump. Thus, deterioration of pump performance due to sand abrasion can be sufficiently prevented.
