Method for the production of hollow products, in particular tubes, by powder metallurgy, in which a powder (10) consisting of metal and/or metal alloys is introduced into a thin-walled capsule (12) comprising an inner tubular surface (14) and an outer tubular surface (16) and a base (18), the capsule (10) then being closed at its end opposite the base by means of an (annular) cover (20) and subjected to a cold-isostatic pressure to produce a compact, which is then preheated and hot-extruded. To avoid expansion cracks at the inner tubular surface, the cover (20) is fixed only at the outer tubular surface (16) after the capsule (12) has been filled, the inner tubular surface (14) projecting axially above the cover (20). A compact is formed in a corresponding manner as an intermediate for the production of tubes or the like. <IMAGE> |
