PURPOSE:To correct oblique advance without casing rimples by passing a paper sheet through first carrying roller having low holding force and high speed to hold the paper sheet between two separated points and through second carrying roller having high holding force and low speed. CONSTITUTION:A paper sheet S held by idle rollers 10a, 10a and drive rollers 11a, 11a is carried to an idle shaft 12 with the angle making against the carrying path. Since the circumferential speed V1 of the idle roller 10a is higher than that V2 of the idle roller 11a, the paper sheet S advancing obliquely while holding the leading edge between the idle rollers 10b is pushed by the idle roller 10a from the rear to provide rotary force toward the center of the idle roller 11b in the direction for reducing the oblique angle thus to correct oblique advance. The paper sheet is pulled out by the idle roller 11b from the idle roller 10a and carried. With such arrangement, oblique advance can be corrected without causing rimples.
