PURPOSE:To obtain a food which can be transported and reconstituted easily, by mixing seasoning, etc., to a food having definite shape, drying and solidifying the mixture in a mold having protrusions at the circumference, and putting the formed product in a container having a size to contact the protruded part of the food with the inner surface of the container. CONSTITUTION:A food having definite shape, e.g. vegetable, meat, fish or shellfish, rice, etc., is mixed with one or more kinds of seasonings, spices, gelatinizing agents, and/or binders. The mixture is charged into a mold having protruded parts at the circumference, and dried and solidified by conventional method. The formed product 2 is put into a container 3 having a size to contact the protruded part 1 of the product 2 with the inner surface of the container 3. The oscillation of the formed and dried food 2 in the container is suppressed and the breakage of the formed food during the transportation and handling can be prevented. Since only the protruded parts of the formed and dried food are contacted with the inner side wall of the container, hot water poured on the food flows down easily through the non-contacting spaces to the bottom of the container to facilitate the reconstitution of the dried food. |
