PURPOSE:To exactly measure the characteristic of a petroleum product with the decreased effect of disturbance by measuring the absorbancy of the absorption max. region in the absorption spectra of a compd. contg. the unsatd. multiple bonds in the petroleum product and preliminarily making the correlation equation with the characteristic of the petroleum product. CONSTITUTION:The light transmitted through a filter 22 which allows the transmission of only the light of the wavelength region including the max. absorption of a sample out of the light from a light source 12 past a sample cell 18 is detected by a photodetector 24 and the light transmitted through a filter 26 which allows the transmission of only the light of the wavelength region where the absorbancy changes less with the characteristic of the sample is detected by a photodetector 28. The outputs from both detectors 24, 28 are compared by a comparator 32 and the difference therebetween is transmitted to an arithmetic circuit 36. The absorbancy of the absorption max. region in the absorption spectra of the compd. contg. the unsatd. multiple bonds in the petroleum product is measured and the correlation equation with the characteristic of the petroleum product is made. Said equation is preliminarily stored in the arithmetic circuit 36. The absorbancy of the unknown petroleum product is thereupon measured and is inserted into the correlation equation stored in the arithmetic circuit 36. The result thereof is outputted to a recorder 37. |
