Process for removing and recovering insoluble organic substance (I) and soluble organic substances (II) which are opt. present from water comprises contact the water with an adsorbing resin partially filling a column until part of (I) forms a distinct organic phase layer, the remaining (I) simultaneously and directly depositing on the surface of the resin and (II) having adsorbed in the pores of the resin. (I) and (II) are then recovered.
