This sling is of the type comprising a strap 2 capable of forming at least one ''U'' shape passing under the load (bundle) and the ends of the arms of which 2b-2c form means for fastening to a lifting member. According to the invention, one 2b of the arms of this sling is firmly attached to one of the ends of a complementary strap 4 for clamping the load (bundle), whilst the other arm 2c is firmly attached to a means 5 for securing the complementary strap 4, used after this strap 4 has been positioned on the upper part of the load (bundle) and this load (bundle) has been clamped between this complementary strap 4 and the bottom of the ''U''-shaped sling. <IMAGE>
