PURPOSE:To improve scuffing resistance as well as wear resistance by using a cast iron material in which each content of C, Si, Mn, P, S, Cu, Ni, Cr, Mo and B is limited. CONSTITUTION:The titled valve guide for internal combustion engines is obtained by casting a molten metal consisting of, by weight, 3-3.6% C, 1.5-2.5% Si, 0.3-1% Mn, 0.1-0.5% P, <=0.2% S, 0.2-0.6% Cu and/or Ni, 0.1-0.8% Cr, 0.2-0.8% Mo, 0.065-0.12% B and the balance Fe. This valve guide excels in scuffing resistance as well as wear resistance.
