PURPOSE:To measure the absolute humidity at a high-temperature and high- humidity gas or any other gas with a high precision by measuring directly the quantity of moisture included in the gas. CONSTITUTION:A suplying device introduces gas as the measurement object into a measuring chamber 1. A condenser 5 cools the gas introduced into the measuring chamber 1 to condense vapor included in this gas. A moisture measuring instrument 9 measures the quantity of water obtained by condensation. The measuring chamber 1 is provided with a temperature 17 and a pressure gauge 18 which measure the temperature and the pressure in this chamber. a processor 22 opens and closes an automatic valve 11 on the basis of signals from level switches 12 and 13 and counts the number of times of operation of the switch 12 in a specified time to obtain the quantity of water condensed in this time. Inputted temperature, pressure, and flow rate and physical property data stored in a memory device 21 are used to calculate the quantity of saturated vapor in the gas in the measuring chamber 1, and the absolute humidity is calculated in accordance with this calculated value and the quantity of water obtained by condensation.
