PURPOSE:To simplify the assembling of a four wheel drive type speed change gear, by disposing a power transmission mechanism in a bisplitable casing, and by fitting a clutch support in a cylindrical section formed in the housing to enable component parts to be assembled one by one successively. CONSTITUTION:A chain chamber casing 45 is formed in one end section of a transmission casing 44 encasing a counter speed change gear section 24. The casing 45 is in a shape having a hollow section projecting radially of a rear wheel side output shaft 25, and is bisplitable into a front casing 46 and a transmission casing 47. Further, a two wheel drive-four wheel drive change-over first clutch 29 is disposed in a space between the front casing 46 and the transmission casing 44, and further, the cahin casing 45 is for encasing a power transmission mechanism 27. With this arrangement component parts such as, for example, the power transmission mechanism, a second output shaft, the clutch may be assembled one by one successively.
