PURPOSE:To provide a sound radiating plate for a small-sized speaker having low density, high strength and high corrosion resistance in combination by forming said plate of an amorphous alloy consisting of prescribed atomic fractions of Ti and >=2 kinds among Si, B, Be and Ce. CONSTITUTION:This sound radiating plate is formed of the amorphous alloy having the compsn. formula Tialpha, Lbeta (L is the elements of >=2 kinds among Si, B, Be and Ce) and satisfying 50<=alpha<=90, 10<=beta<=50, alpha+beta=10 atomic fractions. Such amorphous alloy is produced by a floating melting method as shown in the figure. More specifically, the inside of a vessel 1 is replaced with gaseous Ar and thereafter high-frequency current is passed to a floating heating coil 2 to heat afloat a base alloy 3 consisting of the compsn. expressed by the above- mentioned formula to a molten state. The molten metal is held in this state for the specified time and thereafter a shutter 4 is opened upon switching off of the high-frequency current to drop the molten metal into a quartz nozzle 5. The molten metal is quickly solidified on a Cu roll surface 6 through the tip thereof, by which the ribbon-shaped amorphous alloy 7 is obtd. The amorphous alloy is expressed by, for example, Ti60Be40, Ti50Be40Si10, etc.
