PURPOSE:To obtain the title sintered ore having excellent drop test number, reducibility and resistance to powdering by reduction by regulating the raw material and fuel so that the SiO2 content, basicity and FeO content of the product sintered ore are controlled in a specified range. CONSTITUTION:A raw material and a fuel are regulated to obtain a product sintered ore contg. 4.30-5.30wt% SiO2 and 3.0-7.0wt% FeO and having 1.90-2.20 basicity (CaO/SiO2) and the ore is sintered. In this case, the raw material consists, as is generally known, of miscellaneous auxiliary materials such as iron ore, returned ore an powdery lime stone and a compounding mate rial such as pulverized coke as a heat source and a binder. The materials are mixed and granulated and the granulated material is charged on the pallet of a sintering machine and sintered. When the raw material having the composi tion cited above is sintered, high-quality sintered ore can be produced with high productivity and the iron discharge rate and fuel ratio in a blast furnace can be remarkably improved.
