PURPOSE:To reduce the capacity of a memory cell by providing a controller which obtains by calculating the combination pattern of ON and OFF of a switching element from an initial pattern to store only the initial pattern in a memory. CONSTITUTION:In an inverter having 3-phase bridges formed of a plurality of switching elements, a control signal generator 14 has the first memory 16 for storing the combination pattern of ON and OFF of the switching elements and the second memory 15 for storing the pattern maintaining times. The second controller 18 for calculating the combination pattern of ON and OFF by reading out the stored content of the first memory 16 is provided. The first controller 19 outputs a control signal on the basis of the stored value of the memory 15 and the calculated value of the controller 18. Thus, the memory 16 may store only the initial pattern, thereby reducing its stored content.
