PURPOSE:To provide the titled composition curable by ultraviolet radiation, composed mainly of a photo-setting resin containing a urethane acrylate having a specific composition and an acrylic monomer compatible with the acrylate at a specific ratio, and added with a photo-polymerization initiator. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition curable by ultraviolet radiation is composed of (A) a main component comprising a photo-setting resin containing (i) 50-99wt% urethane acrylate obtained by reacting 10-80mol% ethylene oxide with 90-20% propylene oxide and reacting the resultant polyether polyol having a molecular weight of 2,000-6,000 with a hydroxyl-containing acrylate and (ii) 50-1% acrylic monomer compatible with the component (i), and (B) 0.1-10pts.wt. of a photo-polymerization initiator. The composition is cured with ultraviolet radiation to give a primary coating film of an optical glass fiber capable of keeping low Young's modulus at low temperature.
