Match lighters are intended for the practical use of matches wherever an ignition light is needed. By means of a conveying and ignition mechanism, they provide a controlled and protected match flame such as petrol or gas lighters cannot provide. Depending on the design of the match lighter, a match which is ready to light can be moved out, or lighted and moved out in a controlled manner, by pressure on the ignition push-button. Match lighters are also durable advertising media.
