PURPOSE:To provide a welding glass having high expansion coefficient and low softening point by compounding P2O3, Al2O3, B2O3, BaO, PbO, Na2O+K2O and Li2O at specific ratios. CONSTITUTION:The objective glass for the welding of Sendust is composed of 30-50(wt)% P2O3, 18-26% Al2O3, 6-12% B2O3, 1-7% BaO, 0-20% PbO, 15-30% Na2O+K2O and 0-5% Li2O. The glass having the above composition has a thermal expansion coefficient close to that of Sendust and has a relatively low softening point. Accordingly, the glass is applicable without degrading the magnetic characteristics of Sendust and is suitable for the welding and reinforcement of the gap of a magnetic head having Sendust core.
