PURPOSE:To obtain the titled copolymer, having remarkably improved thermal stability and capable of exhibiting good antistatic properties always even by different processing methods, by copolymerizing a dialkyl sulfate of an aminoalkyl acrylate with vinyl chloride. CONSTITUTION:(A) A dialkyl sulfate of an aminoalkyl acrylate expressed by the formula (R<1> is H or methyl; R<2> and R<3> are 1-4C alkyl; n is an integer 1-4) is copolymerized with (B) vinyl chloride normally at 30-70 deg.C to afford the aimed copolymer. Dimethyl sulfate of N,N-dimethylaminoethyl acrylate, etc., may be used as the component (A), and the amount thereof to be used is preferably 0.5-10wt% based on the total monomers expressed in terms of aminoalkyl acrylate. The aqueous suspension polymerization method is preferably used to carry out industrially and advantageously the above-mentioned polymerization. |
