It is proposed, with respect to conventional mixing devices according to the principle of the delta blade having two breakaway edges in a flow duct, as used especially for cooling towers in power stations, that said delta blades be arranged asymmetrically. Experiments have shown that this arrangement does not produce significantly higher pressure drops but results in considerably better mixing. <IMAGE>
