PURPOSE:To facilitate editing after printing, by a method wherein entrance in a hot zone is discriminated by a printing position discriminating means on the basis of an output from a detecting part for the position of a printing mechanism, and a cursor is displayed on a character-editing display device. CONSTITUTION:A hot zone discriminating means 7 discriminates whether or not a printing position detected by a detecting means 4 is in a hot zone range, and the entrance in the hot zone is stored in a memory means 8 for the entrance in the hot zone. When the printing position has previously entered the hot zone, a hot zone indicating cursor is set in the hot zone, is stored in a hot zone memory part RAM5, and is displayed on a display part 13. Further, where an auto-returning function is set, the hot zone indicating cursor is displayed at the time of auto-returning. In this composition-editing display device 13'', when characters A-E are inputted through keys after setting a right margin 31 and an input- accelerating cursor 33 enters the hot zone, a hot zone alarm cursor 34 is displayed, and it is blinkingly displayed in the auto-returning mode. |
