In a longitudinal stop (6) for a combined circular saw bench and circular cross-cut saw, there is mounted on a guide head (7), which can be fixed by means of a clamping jaw, a pivoting head (10) which is rotatable about a pivot axis (B) extending perpendicularly to the saw blade axis (A) and parallel to the bench support surface (5) and can be fixed in a predetermined angular position by means of a clamping screw (12). A stop rail (13) extending perpendicularly to the saw blade axis (A) is connected detachably to the pivoting head (10) and arranged thereon displaceably transversely to the pivot axis (B) and fixably. The stop rail (13) has two stop surfaces (13a, 13b) running parallel to one another. The first stop surface (13a) has on its lower edge which faces the support surface (5) a support strip (14) which extends perpendicularly to the stop surface (13a) and in the longitudinal direction of the stop rail (13) and is cut out in the region of the saw blade (3). The stop rail (13) can be clamped alternatively with one of its stop surfaces (13a, 13b) on a fastening surface (10a) of the pivoting head (10). <IMAGE>
