Compression refrigerating machine or compression heat pump

Cold steam compression refrigerating machine for generating cold or for use as heat pump, in which an unchanging quantity of a two-phase refrigerant is alternatively compressed and relieved in a closed container of changeable volume, which is formed from a working cylinder or the like, a condenser and an evaporator. Locally approximately constant and temporally changeable pressure prevails on the condensation and evaporation surfaces and in the working cylinder. If the upper pressure and the upper process temperature are reached in the system, heat is delivered in the condenser essentially only during condensation. If the lower pressure and the lower process temperature are reached, heat is absorbed essentially only in the evaporator. The heat flows flowing in and out are controlled automatically by the thermal rectifying effect of the evaporation surface and of the condensation surface. To this end, it is necessary to arrange the two surfaces in such a manner that the condensate can run off onto the evaporation surface and that the latter is constantly overflowed (Fig. 1). <IMAGE>
