MANUFACTURE OF CHARGEABLE ELECTROCHEMICAL DEVICE

PURPOSE:To reduce the scatter of charge-discharge characteristics of an electrochemical device and to reduce its cost by effectively integrating and bonding together a negative electrode alloy, negative electrode collector and a sealing plate, and roughing the negative electrode alloy surface on the side which is pressurized. CONSTITUTION:2 or more kinds of alloys are melted and made into an ingot which is turned into a sheet by extrusion. The sheet is rolled to be formed in a negative electrode alloy 7 of a specified dimension which is placed on a negative electrode collector 9 which has been welded in a sealing plate 2 in advance. The alloy 7 and the collector 9 are pressurized to be bonded together into a single piece on the tip surface of a pressurization tool which is roughened. This enables the collector 9 to be welded satisfactorily to the sealing plate 2, thereby enabling low-cost manufacture and reduction of the scatter in the characteristics.
