PURPOSE:To enable images with high fineness, high density and high gradation to be recorded, by using a thermal color forming layer and a base both of which have specified compositions. CONSTITUTION:The base 6 comprises a base paper 1, a white pigment containing polyolefin resin layer provided on one side of the base paper 1, and a matted polyolefin resin layer 3 provided on the other side of the base paper 1. The thermal color forming layer 4 comprising a colorless or light- colored leuco dye and an acidic color developing substance is boundly provided on the surface of the layer 2 of the base 6, and a protective and printing layer 5 comprising a water-soluble high molecular weight substance, a water-resisting agent for the water-soluble substance and a white pigment is boundly provided on the surface of the layer 4. The layers 4, 5 constitute a thermal color forming recording layer 7. |
