PURPOSE:To provide a gene vector participating in the resistance against a specific cytotoxin and applicable for the molecular breeding of yeast in general including diploid wild yeast. CONSTITUTION:A gene participating in the resistance to at lest one cytotoxin selected from alpha-ketoaldehyde, heavy metal, 8-hydroxy-quinoline, tetramethylthiuram disulfide, iodoacetamide and N-ethylmaleimide. YEp13 (blank region) is used as a vector, and the chromosome DNA fragment (hatched region) of Saccharomyces cerevisiae DKD-5D-H is integrated in the gene. Different genes corresponding to the cytotoxins can be produced [e.g. recombinant DNA (PYCD2) having the gene participating in the resistance to cadmium chloride)]. In the figure, E is EcoRI, H is HindIII, p is pstI, B is BamHI, S is SalI, Bg is BglII, and Pv is PvuII. |
