PURPOSE:To prevent generations of buckling and wrinkle, by pressing cooling medium in cooling roll to a prescribed pressure of >=atmospheric pressure, and maintaining temp. of cooling medium to that lower than boiling point under pressing. CONSTITUTION:Cooling water is passed through a supplying pipe 3, and introduced in a cooling roll 1 by pressure of >=atmospheric pressure due to difference between high and low positions and pressure of a pump 5. Consequently, temp. of cooling water can be maintained to >=100 deg.C, and surface temp. of the roll 1 is held to 110-300 deg.C temp. higher than conventional. Cooling water used inside the roll 1 and whose temp. is raised, is allowed to flow in a drain pipe 4 while maintaining the pressure, and raised while decreasing the pressure. When cooling water is attained to some point in the pipe 4, it begins to vaporize, and flows into a gas water separator 2, as gas and liquid two phases flow while decreasing temp. and pressure. Thereat, cooling water in which vapor is separated is used circulatedly. |
