PURPOSE:To pare the skin all over a fruit, e.g. mandarin orange, by rotating a grinding surface having a semicircular or semielliptic groove and the material to be ground while pressing the material to be ground to the grinding surface. CONSTITUTION:The grinding surface 2 of a grinding tool is formed into a semicircular or semielliptic groove recessed inward along the roundness of a material to be ground, e.g. mandarin orange. The groove surface is rough in the form of grindstone or grater. Pressing rolls 4 having the similar recessed groove are provided to move in the front and rear directions, and receiving rolls 9 are provided between the two grooves to drop the material to be ground 25, e.g. mandarin orange, in a hopper 12 by the own weight thereof and receive the material 25 by the receiving rolls 9. The material 25 is pressed to the grinding surface 2 by the rolls 4 and the skin on the surface thereof is pared while rotating the material 25, e.g. mandarin orange.
