PURPOSE:To prevent a thermal recording layer from being delaminated when water is adhered thereto and prevent sticking or head contamination from occurring, by providing a coated layer comprising a denatured polyvinyl alcohol containing a silicon atom in its molecule as a binder and colloidal silica and/or amorphous silica on the surface of a thermal recording layer. CONSTITUTION:The coated layer comprising a denatured polyvinyl alcohol containing a silicon atom in its molecule as a binder and colloidal silica and/or amorphous silica is provided on the surface of a thermal recording layer, in a thermal recording material provided with a thermal recording layer comprising a microencapsulated diazo compound and a component for performing a color forming reaction with the diazo compound on a base. The denatured polyvinyl alcohol is not particularly limited as far as it contains a silicon atom in its molecule, and preferably, it is a denatured polyvinyl alcohol in which the silicon atom has a reactive substituent group, e.g., alkoxyl, acyloxyl or hydroxyl obtained through hydrolysis or the like or an alkali metal salt group thereof. |
