PURPOSE:To simplify constitution of a device and easily perform its assembly and machining, by rotatably providing guide members about axial centers of the first and the second shafts parallel and crossing at a right angle with the reciprocating direction of a reciprocating working unit. CONSTITUTION:A machine, rotating a driving shaft 99 to lift a ram 19 through an eccentric plate 105 and a rod 109, shears a work W by an upper blade 17 and a bottom blade 15. When the ram 19 lowers, the machine generates horizontal and vertical components acting on a connecting pin 111, and the ram 19 is turned by the action of the horizontal component around the contact point of an upper guide roller 27 with a rear upper guide member 23 and the contact point C of a bottom guide roller 31 with a rear bottom guide member 25 with the contact points serving as the center. The machine, placing the pin 111 to be positioned continually upper from the point C, prevents the ram 19 from being detached from the guide rollers 27, 31. A guide device, being placed in a condition that its guide members profile the sliding surface of a reciprocating working unit, enables the guide action to be performed by simplified constitution.
